On my last visit to Russia, while walking around St. Petersburg, I was handed a flier on which was written only the words "Roof Tours" and a phone number. I was intrigued, so I called the number. This was the first time I had ever come across anything of the sort. This phenomenon was new and fascinated me. It kept me thinking way after my trip and I decided to delve deeper and explore all of its quirks for this book.
