I was asked to design a book cover. Literature studies was the field and influence of Raymond Chandler's "hard bolied" crime story on literature and film. Here's the result:

While thinking of the solutions I decided to use a transformed image of a man looking like movie figure of Philp Marlowe, Chandler novels' main character. Yes, everybody know he used to wear hat (in fact each nad every man wore them those days). The figure "had" to wear hat and a coat. Did some research on what kind of weapon did Marlowe use (looks like he did not have a favourite model - in fact he used several, I used a drawing of one).  In general I wanted to make the whole thing look a bit like movie poster.
