These greeting cards are designed for the Nowruz Festival, a Persian event that happens on the start of Persian new year (the begining of Spring). The most notable symbols for the Persian new year are a decorated plate of grass and goldfish!
We have tried to combine some folding techniques with graphic design to create a unique genre of 3D cards which entertain users creating their own greeting card by folding a flat sheet of paper following the instructions given.
During the design process we faced with many problems such as the complexity of the Origami Pattern or the stability of the folded card. Also I have tried to make the visual design of the card simple and not so noticeable for a better understanding of the card’s shape by the user.
The 3d cards are a visual representation of the Persian new year symbols, goldfish and grass,. All families in Iran keep one in their house during this festival.
