Mini-Wolf - Season 2 - Ouido! Productions
I had the chance to work with director Frédéric Mège and co-director Hervé Vautier on the season 2 of Mini-Wolf for France 5 at Ouido! Productions.
The main goal on this projet was to achieve quality props and FX design with photoshop, including full and loose, so that the export to Toon Boom for animation would have been easy. The first attempt using exclusively the Pen Tool was really heavy and time consuming. We finally decided to use the properties of the Stroke Path function with the pressure simulation on to perform more efficient Pen Tool designs with full and loose. It needed some 'tricks' to be perfect and it wasn't vectorial at the end but it would fit in the time we had.
If I had to do it again today, however, I would use the magic plug-in Lazy Nezumi Pro for photoshop in combination with a Wacom Cintiq to directly draw beautifull and smooth curves like in PaintTool SAI.
