This is a 12 sec introduction video for LOAD Dance Company.
It is an animation of their logo so it can be used as an intro to their dance videos.
The concept was to make their logo -a red flower- bloom to life.
I deconstructed the logotype in Illustrator and then used its numerous bits and pieces in Flash to create the animation.
My basic goals were:
1) surprise the user from second one
2) make it look like a fast painting
3) don't forget the flow
With those things in mind, I "high-speeded" various elements of the logo from the very beginning of the animation in order to give the viewer a first real quick glimpse of the final message. Then I applied the brush strokes and started "painting" the flower using various positions in the canvas as starting points. The final step was the appearance of the word "LOAD", at the exact moment where its explanation "Life Of A Dream" appears.
After finalizing the animation, I work on "dressing" the clip with sound. So I created a custom sound effect to match the visuals.
