¿Cómo uno de los poetas más famosos del mundo tiene tan poco contenido audiovisual en la web?. Esa fue la pregunta que me hice y la motivación por generar un homenaje al célebre poeta chileno, las citas con la voz particular de Neruda fueron obtenidas de una antigua entrevista junto al novelista Gabriel García Márquez que se realizó para la televisión chilena, las imágenes fueron encontradas mediante google.
El principal objetivo era acompañar las apreciaciones sobre la poesía de Neruda en un formato de "tipografía kinética", con efectos modernos pero bajo una estética antigua típica de los años 50 o 60. Utilicé técnicas de rotoscopia para dar profundidad y movimientos suaves a las fotografías.
La selección de tipografía era clave para representar la estética global del proyecto, por ello me incliné por utilizar "Josefin Sans" de Google Fonts ya que calzaba perfecto con tipografías que se utilizaban en medios gráficos, diarios o revistas (Ercilla, El Gráfico) de la época.
La música fue compuesta por mí y grabada con una interfaz de audio USB mas un micrófono Shure PG-81, el objetivo fue, aunque parezca contraproducente, que sonara "lo peor" posible y lo mas cercano a una grabación antigua de vinilo. Para ello apliqué una equalización que solo permitiera las frecuencias medias y por ultimo un plugin de ruido de vinilo para agregar el sonido de polvo y rayones.

¿How one of the most famous poets of the world have such a lack of media on the web?. That was the question that I made and the starting point to make a tribute to the chilean poet, the voice quotes were obtained from an old interview with the novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez for the chilean television, the images were obtained from google.
The main concept was to support the appreciation about the Neruda's poetry in a "kinetic typography" format with modern effects but under an old aesthetic from the 50's or 60's, I used rotoscopy techniques to give depth and soft movement to the images.
The typography selection was key to represent the global fashion of the project, that's why I lean to use "Josefin Sans", from google fonts, cause it fits perfectly with the typography of graphics media, magazines and newspapers of the period.
The music was composed by me and recorded with an USB Audio Interface and a Shure PG-81 microphone, the objetive was, for strange than appears, to sound "the worst" posible and closer to an old vinyl record. For this I apply a strong mid-frequency equalization and a vinyl noise plugin to add dust and scratch sounds to the mix.
