Transitioning The Economist's Magazine iOS apps to a universal iOS app.

Brought on via Snapp, lead by Rohit Agarwal, to help The Economist with the UX for their new iOS app.
Objective
The Economist wanted to transition their premium iPhone and iPad Magazine apps to a single universal iOS app, and wanted to improve the experience of their existing offering.
Challenge
A complex project due to both the iPhone and iPad versions of this well loved app had different interfaces and feature sets. Complicated further by a complex tech stack and content delivery system.
Design approach
I conducted gap analysis, supported by app analytics insights and guerrilla user testing, and defined the new experience and feature set.
I created detailed developer-ready wireframes for both iPhone and iPad, with visual mock-ups of the new app experience, and provided a road map of features and experience improvements for later versions. So internal teams could design and build it.
