Shoe Design and Illustration

About me: I am currently a first-year Creative Media student at Dundalk Institute of Technology. All of the work below was created by me from January to May 2024. The recent advent of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) tools loom large over the creative industries therefore, this is the perfect time for me to upload and display work produced by an authentic human. It is also a way to capture and record my personal progression and journey as a young professional creative. I am looking forward to the subsequent development of my work and future practice.
The Brief: To examine the role of the shoe within the context of Communication, Design and Illustration.
Working methods: In order to examine the role of the shoe as a communicative device within my social sphere, several illustration and design method techniques were explored. For example, photography, analogue drawing, and digital drawing was applied throughout the project to understand how a tangible object such as, a shoe, exist in the real world.

Asset generation:
Experimentation with virtual reality (VR) drawing tools such as Gravity sketch helped inform the modern technology-based audience.
Experimentation with Adobe Illustrator drawing tools and 3D tools helped inform the Adobe professionals community.
Experimentation with Adobe Photoshop a.i. selection tools and automated tools helped inform the Photoshop enthusiasts.
Experimentation with digital photography and drawing within the view finder helped inform the audience that preffered analogue techniques.
