IXD Project 5: Email Design

Project 5: Email Design
PROBLEM:
In this scenario, you are working for an email marketing agency. They create email designs for clients.
Step 1:
You will design one (1) email for one of their existing clients. (You only need to choose one client email to create one email.) Find the copy decks for these three companies below this section:
Graduate Hotels
Ticketmaster for Oak Grove Gaming
Academy Sports + Nike
Objectives:
Research an existing brand and gather assets for that brand to use in a digital interaction design.
Visually interpret a copy deck.
Brainstorm and design an example of email marketing.
Learn to design in an email delivery tool.
Learn to deploy in an email delivery tool.
Learn that CTA means "Call to Action" — or what do you want the viewer to do?
Reflection:
It was interesting to design an email. I knew that there was designers for emails but I did not know of the process. Using mail chimp was relatively easy to understand to get the layout and style I wanted to achieve with making the Academy ad email. I myself am also signed up with Academy's emailing list so I get to see their email designs a lot. I did reference the way they do their emails with the relatively simple color palette: blue, red, and white with their respective hues.
From studying different sport and outdoor emails from other companies, I have found they like to use a Bold typeface to draw attention to the product they are promoting. There is also a sense of hierarchy with the way the email is displayed as well with the main selling product being the biggest on the page while everything else follows behind.
With keeping the hierarchy in mind and the products listed on the copy deck, NIKE was what I considered to be the main seller with the products highlighting the shoes and then the men's dry-fit shirts. Those are the two items I wanted to have the highest interest then it continuing into the women's tank and if their was more products listed on the copy deck then they would follow after with it being the smallest interest.
