Crown Lotus Necklace - Ivory
Crown Lotus Necklace - Black

Inspired by the Queen’s royal crown ornaments of Baekje Kingdom in Korea, I created this piece as a tribute to all the women who have graced our lives with their love and friendship.

The honeysuckle vines, symbolizing devoted affection and the bonds of love, surround the design and grow into the shape of a , the ancient symbol of love and beauty.

The  in the center is a traditional Buddhist motif symbolizing the purity of heart and mind. The lotus remains unstained despite growing in muddy water and rises above to bloom beautifully. At night, the lotus closes and sinks underwater and will rise and open again at dawn. It represents the hope and perseverance to shine through the “mud of the world.”

A beautiful blending of cultures, the Crown Lotus Necklace is a great Mother’s Day gift as it can be personalized as a custom birthstone mother’s necklace by selecting each child’s birth month for the crystals. It is also a wonderful gift for sisters, daughters, best friends and relatives. The Swarovski crystals that dangle from this piece is customizable– you can choose by the birth months or your favorite colors to further tailor it to the receiver.
Heart Leaf Wing Earrings

This heart-shaped leaf also has the likeness of a phoenix’s wings. It is inspired by the Paulownia coreana tree–the royal (princess) foxglove tree–which is known for its heart-shaped leaves and white or purple blossom clusters. This design is an intricate symbol of happiness, good fortune, luck and a sign of future success and prosperity.

Because Paulownia wood is lightweight, strong and rot resistant, it was often made into armoires or boxes. It is also said that phoenixes dwell within these trees. In ancient times when a daughter was born, they would plant a Paulownia tree. When the daughter was given away in marriage, they made furniture out of the wood and because of the legend of the phoenix, it was regarded as an auspicious gift.

Honeysuckle Vine Earrings

Honeysuckle represents devoted affection and the bonds of love. Honeysuckle can also symbolize diligently staying true to your path as well as life’s sweetness.

In traditional Korean, Japanese and Chinese art, the honeysuckle vine is a symbol of longevity because of its winding vines that connect together that form a continuous pattern.

True to its name, honeysuckle petals are edible and have a light sweet flavor. This sweetness has given this flower symbolic value in other cultures as well. In the French “Secret Language of Flowers” book, honeysuckle represents being “united in love” and devotion because of its clinging nature.

Honeysuckle is sometimes used in wedding ceremonies to represent the love that clings without harming anyone. In Scottish lore, it was believed that if you grow honeysuckle it will bring good luck and protect the home from evil; when you bring the flowers inside your home, they represent prosperity and money will follow.

This original charm, measuring approx 1.2″ (3cm) tall, hangs from sterling silver hooks & findings. Light and comfortable to wear- a beautiful and inspiring gift, for your loved ones or yourself!
