"Xtent" is the name of our Team Project that had to come up with an idea for turning a Ford 150 supercab 1998 into a camper van for travelling.
My responsibility was to design the foldable sleeping area which would act as the closing door of the back cargo.

The sleeping area provides a 200x140 cm mattress for two people and had to have several other considerations to it:
1. The mattress would be fixed via two lashing straps that are hidden in their own compartments, but also the storage areas are fixed via their own lids for preventing the objects from falling off when in compact mode on the ride.
2. Finding the notch of the lids could be challenging since the light is mostly limited. So the tactile curve plus the white coloring are designed for this.
3. The user should be provided with extra usability assistance since the area is located on the top of the van.
4. Storage room includes designed spaces for cups and mugs.
...and also power outlet and USB charging ports.
