Onna Bugeisha
Samurai could be of any gender. Female warriors were equal to males and fought no less (even more) fiercely. They were known as the 女武芸者 (onna-bugeisha), and they were highly educated in both humanitarian and martial arts.
Onna-bugeisha underwent rigorous training to develop their physical and mental abilities, preparing them for the challenges of warfare. Their training encompassed various aspects, including physical conditioning, martial arts techniques, and weapon proficiency.
Mental training was equally important for onna-bugeisha. They cultivated discipline, focus, and resilience through meditation and mental exercises.
