Brushing Creativity: A Deep Dive into the Art of Illustrator Stickers
This project aimed to craft six stickers that seamlessly integrated key graphic design elements. In selecting the stickers, my goal was, to fashion something both enchanting and aesthetically pleasing. My primary consideration was to produce a sticker that I personally would find cute enough to purchase. Stickers can be cheap, but the right style can make them worth sticking onto something valuable. So, my goal was to make something unique enough to choose over others.

My Many Sketches
For my sketches, I started to think about everyday objects like a book, moon, butterfly, boot, and grapes. I wanted to turn each of these things into something almost whimsical and vintage-looking. I went through a couple of stages of sketching, slowly coming to each of these conclusions for the final design. The moon transformed into a dripping sunset, I created a flower on the books, a typical perfume bottle became vintage, my favorite flowers were placed inside a boot, and the butterfly turned into a cute heart, while the grapes became disco balls with a music note for the stem.
My Drafts
When illustrating these stickers, I opted for very bright colors, ensuring that each sticker adhered to the same color palette. Some feedback I received suggested raising one boot slightly to prevent the formation of a tangent. Another piece of advice was to enhance the distinction of the disco ball within the grapes by altering them and ensuring the lighting and shadows made sense. Also to fix the shadowing of the flowers on the book. Lastly, it was recommended to round out the butterfly and add more dots to give it a closer resemblance to an actual butterfly.
My Final Product
For my final six stickers, I incorporated all the elements of graphic design, including colors, contrast, shape, etc. I aimed to craft an enchanting design that I would personally print, ensuring each design piece was unique and colorful. I took into account all the feedback I received, such as adjusting the boot, refining the flower, rounding out the butterfly, and transforming the grapes into a more realistic version of disco balls. I invested considerable thought and time into these designs, and I am very proud of how the final product turned out.
