The Market
The Central Abastos Market is the largest market in the state of Oaxaca. A lovely sensory overload of colour, smells and sounds. From fresh produce, to clothing, the market is stacked with vendors and shoppers. At around 1,555 meters above sea level, the dry air and heat start to take it out of you. Added to this, I started to get ill from this point of my tour of Mexico. A good does of Montezuma’s revenge and a sick bug hit me, on new year’s eve(wonderful). I’m an experienced traveller so kept on going, but…. at a much slower pace. Mescal didn’t even help. The truth of travel.
