I was honored to work with Grace Chapel on their Christmas Carolling Album, a project that celebrates the legacy and spirit of their community. The album cover design reflects the brief’s objectives, insights, and style, as well as my own creative vision.
The brief asked for a people-centric, elegant, and eye-catching design that captures the essence of carolling at Grace Chapel. I learned that carolling is a cherished tradition that has been passed on through generations, and that the songs are unique to Grace Chapel. I also discovered that the church is a welcoming and inclusive place that values diversity and authenticity.
I wanted the design to convey the message of God’s grace and love through the people who sing His praises. There was an initial round of design presentations and the committee chose this design with which to move forward. The green color was chosen by the client with the rationale that its the first volume with many more and with each new album we will change the color. The next album I propose a more blue hue. The design chosen reflected the “though the ideas” of people, praise all leading to the nativity, the reason for the season.
