This school project aimed to developped a concept around the idea of list. While at the computer, the act of writing with the keyboard has come up as an interesting idea for exploring the concepts of language.
In Deconstruction and Graphic Design by Ellen Lupton, the pair speech/writing comes as the central concept that writing is something exterior to the mind, that requires learning and equipment, therefore not entirely pure like Aristotle's definition of "verbal arts".
Using a passage from Richard McKeon in Aristotle’s conception of language and the arts of language, the list resulted in an object made of 308 layers. In a keyboard matrix we've explored patterns and repetitions in the act of typing Richard's excerpt at the computer. New three languages were generated (intensity, swype, letters) reaching new degrees of impurity compared with the speech concept as an "verbal art".
