BRIEFING

Bavaroise studio was invited to conceive the Christmas art installation for the main corridor at Lionesa Business Hub, Portugal’s largest and most dynamic business campus. Home to a vibrant community of over 7,000 people from 120 companies and 47 nationalities, Lionesa Business Hub is committed to building a happier working world.

Xmas is inevitably associated with many things, from snow, gifts, typical food, and the birth of Jesus…however, we wanted to select a symbol that could be common to the winter season, free from religious connotations, and could be hung.

IDEIA

Inspired by the red iron structure the idea came out: Christmas socks.

But how to be original with such a recurring element?
Making its connection with the place’s uniqueness!

Lionesa Hub is in Leça do Balio, and what was a challenge but at the same time a pleasant surprise during spring (our last art installation) was the presence of the natural element: the wind that runs through the corridor! (it was a case to say the answer was blowing in the wind.)

Thus, the fusion arises “Wind + Socks” and what a happy name! As it is the name of an object in coastal areas or places where wind indication is important. Furthermore, no doubt its white and red colors transport us to the Christmas season!

LIGHT AND SOUND

How can you make this experience even more magical?

Reinforcing the idea that the Christmas spirit is present at Lionesa with the addition of lights on the roof and bells at the ends of the socks and waiting for the wind to play the "jingle bells" naturally.

SIDEWALL

Additionally, we were also responsible for the concept of the side wall, this time we wanted to redirect the message to the brand position of the Hub, a happier working place.

The essence of happiness lies in our perspective toward life and the equilibrium we establish between our goals and expectations. Rather than consistently projecting it into the distant future, it should be cherished in the 'present' moment. However, this realization may not always be evident and often demands effort and a shift in our “point of view”.

“Happiness is a matter of perspective” was our call to action, wrapping the sidewall as a giant “gift” with a hidden message.
