Task Forces at Amnesty USA

An internationally recognized human rights organization that advocates for the protection and promotion of human rights worldwide, Amnesty International operates as a global entity with various national branches, including Amnesty USA. Amnesty USA focuses explicitly on human rights concerns within the United States by conducting campaigns, advocacy, and awareness-raising activities tailored to the country's context.

Amnesty USA's grassroots activism is dedicated to fighting for everyone's human rights. It accomplishes its objective by coordinating at the national, state, and local levels through various strategies, including physical and digital activism. Task forces are collectives of Amnesty USA's activists who organize to promote human rights related to a specific issue in their area.

One issue that Amnesty USA's task forces deal with is ending gun violence. Task forces are working to stop gun violence in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Florida, Texas and Ohio. Amnesty USA members in California and Texas also work to ensure refugee and migrant rights. At the same time, New York-based individuals can join the tech and human rights task force, which aims to create a world where tech is used to advance human rights rather than stifling them.
