Me-Ho is a design concept that makes it easy to raise mealworms with a hotel-inspired theme and contributes to sustainable future food production.

Me-Ho는 호텔을 컨셉으로 밀웜을 손쉽게 사육하고 지속 가능한 미래 식량 생산에 기여할 수 있는 디자인 입니다.

세계 인구 증가로 인한 식량난 위기

It is projected that the global population will approach 10 billion by around 2050, and as a result, insect-based food is emerging as an alternative to address the issue of increasing food demand.

Insect-based food can be produced in large quantities with low environmental costs, and it also offers rich nutritional value, demonstrating long-term sustainability. Due to these advantages, insect-based food is gaining attention as a future food substitute.

이로 인한 식량 수요 증가 문제에 대한 대안으로 곤충 식량이 부상하고 있습니다.

곤충 식량은 낮은 환경 비용으로 대량 생산이 가능하며, 영양가 또한 풍부하여 장기적인 지속 가능성을 보여줍니다.
이러한 장점들로 인해, 곤충 식량은 미래 식량 대체재로 주목 받고 있습니다.

대표적인 식용곤충 밀웜

Meal Worm is a representative type of insect-based food that is relatively less aversive compared to other insect-based foods, has a small, larva-like appearance similar to a mealworm, and is efficient for mass production.

밀웜은 다른 곤충 식량에 비해 상대적으로 혐오감이 적고,
번데기와 비슷한 작은 형태를 가지며 대량생산에도 효율적인 곤충 식량 대표 종류입니다.

We raised mealworms ourselves, toured breeding farms, and established design conditions for mealworm breeding kits based on our breeding and management experience.

밀웜을 직접 키워보고 사육 농장을 견학하여 사육 및 관리 경험을 토대로 밀웜 사육 키트 디자인 조건을 수립하였습니다.

밀웜에게 공간을 제공하다

Considering the life cycle of mealworms, relevant research, and farming practices, it became evident that distinct segments are required to accommodate each growth stage of mealworms.

"We utilize different floors, much like a hotel, to provide spaces tailored to the growth stages of mealworms. We drew inspiration from the modern hotel's clean and subtle ambiance for the design.

밀웜의 생애주기, 관련 연구, 농가에서의 사육 방식을 고려하면,

밀웜의 각 성장 단계에 맞는 구간이 필요하다는 사실을 확인했습니다.

호텔과 같이 각기 다른 층을 활용하여 밀웜의 성장 단계에 맞춘 공간을 제공합니다.

현대 호텔의 깔끔하고 은은한 분위기를 디자인의 영감으로 삼았습니다.
