Since 2022 I have been working on a watercolor series on the theme of 'eternal'.
From a purely human perspective, there shouldn't be eternity. That's why I'm fascinated by the existence of this term in all cultures.
I tried to paint a whole picture from different angles. But it's still open. Feel free to share one of your thoughts with me for inspiration.
life cycles
Life cycles are an enormous part of our life experience. Thinking about an eternal part of us, soul, we explain it ith cycles, too. But that's still thinking in a timeline. Also thinking in cycles has an eternal repeating, but in detail something/-one has to pass forever to start again. I guess it's not the complete answer and our mind is not able to think outside time.
eternal love
I ask around my Instagram community and found that different cultures around the world have a word for 'eternal love'. That's interesting, because from human point of view everything is impermanent. Love seems to be out of this world. Deep within us is this longing for still perfect love on a divine scale.
uncatchable moment
Moments are passing, we can't hold them, can't go back.
treasures upon earth
It's about transience - everything will pass away - weath, youth, beauty
(Regarding to Matthew 6.19, Bible: 'Do not store up yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume...')
