Lotsy

Logo and corporate identity for an online auction application

Client

Lotsy is a mobile app for buying and selling goods that works like an auction: sellers publish ads with starting prices from 1 minimum monetary unit and buyers bid.

Engagement is facilitated through a game-like format. Users see interesting products in a recommendation feed, which is curated by internal algorithms. Products can be added to favorites, and then a notification about the start of bidding arrives on the phone. The personal account displays auctions where the user has won or lost. If lost, one can subscribe to new auctions with the same product.

The project is currently in the launch phase.

Task

Lotsy approached Logomachine for the development of a logo and brand identity that would convey the atmosphere of tension and thrill of participating in an auction. But at the same time, the branding should convey that it's a fun and playful application.

Solution

The foundation of the logo consists of images of coins and a star, designed in pseudo 3D graphics. Two coins convey the app's idea: auctions start at 1 ruble, and coin by coin, the user gets a "favorite" item, symbolized by the star.

The icons, like the logo, resemble game elements, pointing to the app's format - engaging users through gamification. The set of icons can be used on any medium, combining symbols of the star, like, and new message.

The brand's font is the light and readable Nunito Sans, which supports the playful mood of the game.

The color palette consists of soft shades of pink, blue, and purple, with yellow being the contrasting color. Yellow is associated with coins and the star. Such a color combination conveys a sense of casual fun.

On some mediums, besides the brand's 3D elements, we placed phrases that reflect the app's idea: "Choose, play, and buy", "Hurry to buy cheaper!" and "Sell unnecessary things and earn well from it". They can be used in advertising layouts, social networks, and merchandise.
