Favourite Paintings from my Portfolio

Hayao's Magic Workshop
Acrylic on Board - 2013/14

I really must get a better picture of this painting. I submitted this work - my favourite painting to date - to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2014. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful, but this painting has garnered massive Twitter interest and really helped boost my online profile, or at least get it going. It is heavily inspired by Studio Ghibli and it is based on the enchanting, mysterious qualities of my Granda's workshop. My Granda (grandfather, to avoid confusion) has impressed much wisdom and knowledge on both my father and I regarding tools, making and building things. With this painting I really tried to create a scene for the viewer to lose themselves in.
Study for a Still Life
Acrylic on Canvas Board - 2014

A study for a still life, painted on a piece of canvas board I originally intended to practice on in a rather patchy and urgent manner. Instead I created this, which I value now for its composition and slight look of being unfinished (which I suppose it could be argued, it is). I am fond of this study; this is the best piece of still life drawing or painting I have yet created.
Man Asleep: NYC Subway (2013)
Acrylic on Canvas - 2013

Painted from a photograph of a man sleeping on an Upper East Side NYC Subway platform. His hood was over his face and I was able to approach him, catching him unawares.
