Secured my first job as a proper designer by designing shoes for a small online footwear and accessories company. The shapes of the shoes are inspired by the shapes found in GTP Wax prints, printed textiles from Ghana. The printed fabrics are different types of GTP wax prints. The flat shoes have gone into production already since the launch of the company's website so now I have my creations on foot! For a seasoned and experienced designer this means nothing but to someone who is starting to retail properly her creations, it feels ever so good. Makes me what to get back to that drawing board and sketch sketch sketch!
