Moon Prince
The moon prince secretly visits a city at night, arriving in a dark alley.
His companion, the moon rabbit, with him.
This was the first post for my annual Instagram challenge 'ArtstyleJuly', in which I looked at classic art styles and created a digital work of art from them.
art process
It starts with an analysis of the artstyle, in this case it's symbolism.
Symbolism needs symbols - more, a journey into fantasy, myths, legends. Stylistical I went back to the 1920s. I spun my story based on the main theme of this year’s Artstyle July “Nightlife”.

You can see in the video how my city background became more and more abstract. Also my hand struggles...
material
1| My main brush is the Soft Acrylic - a versatile standard brush of Adobe Fresco. For the painterly style I also like to use Cezanne and Soft Chalk, standard brushes a well.
2| For the golden elements I use a photography of a gold leaf and apply it as clipping mask to the layer I drew on.
