TKKG is one of the most successful German book and radio play series. Based on the books for young people by Stefan Wolf, the radio play series has been produced since 1981 by EUROPA, the family label of Sony Music Entertainment Deutschland. With more than 40 million copies sold, TKKG is one of the most successful German youth series ever and, after the book and radio play series "Die drei ???", is the most commercially successful series in its genre in the German-speaking world.

Having already been commissioned with the relaunch of the two websites tkkg.de and tkkg-junior.de in 2019, we subsequently also developed the campaign website for the interactive Alexa Skill radio play "TKKG - Mein Abenteuer". As a result of the successful collaboration with Sony Music, which we had previously supported in various other digital projects, we were commissioned with a comprehensive redesign of the TKKG brand at the beginning of this year.

In addition to the TKKG logo, the branding, including various existing assets, was to be updated and optimized for use in digital media. The foundation of the new design is the font "Vierstein", which was exclusively developed by us in two font styles. It's also the basis for the newly created word mark. In addition, we have continued to rely on the existing color scheme of blue, white and yellow, which has only been expanded to include a contrasting shade of red. Together with the already established illustration style, we were able to give the brand a more contemporary and, considering the fan base which has grown along over decades, less childish look.

On top of specifications for web, social media and streaming platforms, we also created templates for album artworks and motion designs. Finally, we implemented a web-based style guide to document the new design, which allows license partners not only to access design specifications but also to directly download assets such as logos or fonts.

The launch of the new design was accompanied by a social media campaign, during which fans were able to unveil the new design piece by piece by streaming TKKG content collectively. Here we were involved again and are responsible for the conception and design of the corresponding microsite.
