Convoy Interactive's profile

Tanztheater Wuppertal Terrain

Tanztheater Wuppertal and the name Pina Bausch have always been closely associated: For decades, the multiple award-winning choreographer and dancer as well as the ensemble of the Tanztheater have been among one of the most renowned companies worldwide. With its new artistic director Boris Charmatz, Tanztheater Wuppertal is literally breaking new ground, as documented by a new corporate design and a completely revamped website.

The new website focuses on information about the theater, the ensemble and the current season, as well as on the plays themselves. A customized admin panel allows editors to manage content conveniently and to link seasons, plays, venues and dancers. This enables website visitors to navigate intuitively through the website with just a few clicks and to dive deeper into the world of the theatre.

In addition, the new digital presence impresses with a bold and self-confident design, whose central visual elements are the oversized typography dancing across the screen and a variable color concept based on freely selectable color themes. This innovative approach not only symbolizes the avant-garde work of Pina Bausch and Boris Charmatz, but also forms the foundation for a unique, interactive user experience.

As a result, the newly designed website conveys a comprehensive overview of the artistic work of Pina Bausch, Boris Charmatz and the Tanztheater Wuppertal Terrain through the skilled fusion of unconventional design and well thought-out technical implementation.

The project was developed in cooperation with the agency MOR Design from Berlin, who have been responsible for the rebranding. Convoy Interactive has been responsible for the website's concept, design and development. Font exclusively designed by Production Type from Paris.
