It's day 33 of posting everyday challenge ! I wanted to try out something fun and tackle horse sketches since I never was able to get them right. Hope I did well. Thanks for the support !
If you wish to recreate I suggest:
• using a thin paper that isn't high quality if you're a beginner
• art is about practice and making mistakes so don't be afraid of throwing out a few papers
• using a pencil that's on the harder side like most commonly used HB and using softer ones for details like B2
• references help understand how an object (in this case animal) presents itself, maintains balance etc.
• horses have oval-shaped hooves, long tails, short hair, long slender legs, muscular and deep torso build, long thick necks, and large elongated heads.
• the mane is a region of coarse hairs, which extends along the dorsal side of the neck in both domestic and wild species.
• The teeth are specialised for grazing, with cheek-teeth that are complex and grow continually.
• domestication of horses has led to wide variation in the characteristics of breeds of horses. Coats vary in colour, from white to black and including reds, browns, and yellows, as well as a wide variety of patterns, such as spots and pinto patterns.
