Financial Consulting Group BUSINESS's profile

The Basics of the CEBS Designation

Germantown, Tennessee’s Financial Consulting Group offers a range of investment and advisement services for businesses and individuals alike. On its relatively extensive roster of credentialed industry professionals, Tennessee’s Financial Consulting Group employs three Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (CEBSs).

The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) bestows the CEBS designation on qualified administrative professionals who institute and manage employee benefits packages. To secure a CEBS, candidates must successfully pass five courses and five final, 100-question examinations.

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Dalhousie University collaborated to develop and present CEBS curricula. Because the credential applies in both the United States and Canada, some course material is regionally specific. For example, a Canadian CEBS with universal health care doesn’t need to study America’s Affordable Care Act.

Each CEBS course covers different areas of group benefit plans and retirement benefits packages. The average candidate takes roughly 3 years to complete entire educational process and pass all five final exams.
