Instant film is great for casual environmental portraits, especially with people who are comfortable with themselves.
If shot digitally, some of these subjects would expect to shoot on and pick one of the later shots. Usually, those shots are more flattering and polished look but not necessarily what I wanted. Just because I was shooting instant film, people often accept the very first shot. People also think and engage in discussion with me when planning a shoot, much more so than when shooting a dSLR. Most of these images were taken as the first shot, and there was no second shot.
