Baie des Sciences Festival #3

Driven by the association Le Temps des Sciences, the Baie des sciences festival aims to popularise science through an annual theme. Partners gather to make science and technology more accessible and promote innovations in the Saint-Brieuc region.
For its 3rd edition, the association wanted to inject new energy through a new seasonal identity, which will be revealed within the Biomimicry theme. A colorful visual will invite a different perspective on science, often perceived as serious and rigid.
Revealing The Identity
To catch the eye and make communication more dynamic, the new seasonal identity will be revealed in two stages: on the first poster, silhouettes of animals can be vaguely made out in a graphic composition of bold colors. The organic shapes intersect and overlap, and, in the same manner as biomimicry, elements combine to create something new. This imaginary landscape is a blend of diverse inspirations from nature, resulting in a new interpretation. The festival theme is not yet indicated, and it's up to the public to guess!
In the second stage, the final poster reveals the animals in an explosion of life and color.
A Thriving Jungle
The festival's theme is now revealed to be the jungle — inspired by the Douanier Rousseau's paintings, a heartfelt reference for the association's members — shows the animals, insects, and plants in a textured ensemble. The visual offers several levels of interpretation, like diving into a lush natural land, teeming with life: one can now perceive the details of the animals and plants. Fauna and flora create a poetic hybrid landscape in which one can discover and get lost.
