Inni's Queendom- A Children's Book

Inni's Queendom- A children's book.
The belief that animals are just stand-ins or fodder for us humans has been hardwired in our brains for ages that we have forgotten to question otherwise, and this superiority complex has led to an anthropocentric lens of looking at the world.

And so, in order to clear the dichotomy between humans and animals and introduce a newer perception of intelligence, it is particularly important for the younger audience to understand this perception of intelligence and create a more inclusive and a sustainable environment. And hence, I decided to create a children’s book, to express the truth in a more exciting way rather than just blandly stating big, fat facts.

Inni, a 5-year-old is the star of our story, who has hardly been in contact with animals throughout her life and so she dreams about them by creating her fantastical and colorful ‘Queendom’. In her Queendom, she is the queen, and all her subjects are highly intelligent and hard-working animals. Each animal is given a specific role according to their strengths and unique personalities that creates a very balanced environment in her Queendom.

The book talks about the harsh reality of the planet and also talks about the urgent need for some action towards the same or it won’t be long before every animal turns into a ‘Living Ghost’.
