ÉTÉ is an Asian Fusion restaurant located in Berlin. It all started from a family tradition. Our client (a very young German woman) was born in Berlin to Vietnamese parents and has always shared with her father a deep love for Asian food, that’s why they decided to start this project.

Part of the strategy is the comfort of knowing that everyone is welcome and will feel special. They focus on paying real attention to all types of people by offering them an exceptional option, whether they are vegans, non-drinkers, or people who want to treat themselves to a cocktail, something quiet or an eccentric dessert.
The brand purpose is to make people recover the capacity for wonder… When we travel to a faraway place, we look at everything with the illusion of being surprised, we walk slowly, we stop to observe, to discover new aromas and flavours. ÉTÉ’s purpose is to encourage this feeling, both for tourists and locals.
For ÉTÉ, as an Asian restaurant, it is key to communicate its roots, but also to bring familiarity to those who live in or travel through Berlin. We wanted to portray this idea of being a place of the East in the West through the logotype, which although written in the Latin alphabet, simulates a kanji.
The graphic composition that permeates the brand behaviour in all applications comes from the idea of portraying a spring landscape (“été” means spring in French). The fact of forming this landscape with different patterns is intended to denote the diversity mentioned in the strategy and to have hints of Asian aesthetics.
