Meta wanted to highlight their vision for the future of the metaverse. So we helped bring to life a first-of-its-kind mixed reality event in Lagos, Nigeria, inviting a group of creators to experience and “flex” in the metaverse for the first time together.

The execution
Flex Naija was an immersive concert starring Cruel Santino, Ayra Starr and Teni the Entertainer and a showcase celebrating African creators across many disciplines, from music and tech to fashion and comedy. Our team created the visual and interactive content for the event, immersing attendees in the artist’s world within the metaverse using augmented reality as a medium.
We used Meta Spark AR to build four filters for attendee interaction, plus three “tap and reveal” moments within the filters with hidden assets for people to discover. To create a sense of immersion, we split the content across four large LED screens.
The playful virtual experience came together in just four weeks and highlighted

The results
This was a never-been-done-before event that used AR in live entertainment, merging the real world with a virtual experience. We inspired Nigerian creators to find new ways to connect with their communities and contribute to an inclusive metaverse.
