O PROJETO
Vivo no Porto, desde 2020, e tenho verdadeira paixão pelos vinhos de Portugal. Sendo designer e ilustrador, acabei por admirar também os rótulos das garrafas que portam a imensa variedade da alquimia vitivinícola desta terra.
O The Wine Labels Project é um experimento criativo envolvendo design gráfico, ilustração, naming e degustação de vinhos. Cada rótulo desenvolvido tem inspiração sensorial em vinhos reais a fim de apresentar características fidedignas aos produtos fictícios desenvolvidos. A criação dos rótulos parte da coleta de informações através da prova de vinhos de diferentes regiões portuguesas em busca de aromas, texturas, cores, sabores e sensações físicas e mentais que remetem a palavras, expressões idiomáticas, formas e imagens.
Este projeto tem por propósito a inserção profissional no mercado vitivinícola com a intenção de trabalhar em parceria com caves, vinícolas, produtores, agências de comunicação e escritórios de design.

THE PROJECT
I have been living in Porto since 2020 and I have a real passion for Portuguese wines. Being a designer and illustrator, I also ended up admiring the labels on the bottles that carry the immense variety of the wine alchemy of this land.
The Wine Labels Project is a creative experiment involving graphic design, illustration, naming and wine tasting. Each label developed has sensorial inspiration in real wines in order to present reliable characteristics to the fictitious products developed. The creation of the labels is based on collecting information through tasting wines from different Portuguese regions in search of aromas, textures, colors, flavors and physical and mental sensations that refer to words, idiomatic expressions, shapes and images.
This project aims at professional insertion in the wine market with the intention of working in partnership with cellars, wineries, producers, communication agencies and design offices.

DELÍRIO DE BACO | Douro Tinto 2009
Castas: Touriga nacional, Touriga franca e Tinto cão
A partir dos solos xistosos oriundos da sub-região Douro Superior, o Delírio de Baco é um vinho de cor intensa e concentrada. O longo estágio em carvalho francês avinhado confere complexidade e amacia os taninos mais aguerridos. No nariz, notas de frutos silvestres (amora e mirtilo), nuances de tabaco, especiarias e um mentolado que destaca-se ao agitar do copo. Na boca tem estrutura, robustez e persistência. Um vinho potente, de longa guarda, com frescura aromática e divinamente equilibrado.

DELÍRIO DE BACO (Bacchus' Delirium) | Douro Red 2009
Varieties: Touriga nacional, Touriga franca and Tinto cão
From the schist soils from the Douro Superior sub-region, Delírio de Baco is a wine with an intense and concentrated color. The long aging in French wine oak adds complexity and softens the most hardened tannins. On the nose, notes of wild berries (blackberry and blueberry), nuances of tobacco, spices and a menthol that stands out when swirling the glass. In the mouth it has structure, robustness and persistence. A potent, long-keeping wine, with aromatic freshness and divinely balanced.

FRESCURA, PÁ | Vinho Verde Branco Colheita 2021
Casta: Alvarinho
Como o próprio nome indica, este vinho tem alto poder de refrescância, que lhe foi conferido pela grande mineralidade e acidez provenientes de vinhas plantadas em solos graníticos nas encostas montanhosas da sub-região de Monção e Melgaço. O Frescura, pá! tem coloração amarela citrina brilhante e um aroma elegante marcado por notas minerais e nuances cítricas. Na boca é seco e persistente, de carácter mineral e com acidez vibrante. A complementar o frescor, o vinho ganha estrutura com a bâtonnage e o estágio sobre as borras finas, antes de ser engarrafado.

FRESCURA, PÁ! (Freshness, man!) | Vinho Verde White Harvest 2021
Variety: Alvarinho
As its name implies, this wine has a high refreshing power, which was conferred on it by the great minerality and acidity coming from vines planted in granitic soils on the mountain slopes of the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço. The Frescura, pá! It has a bright citrine yellow color and an elegant aroma marked by mineral notes and citrus nuances. In the mouth it is dry and persistent, with a mineral character and vibrant acidity. Complementing the freshness, the wine gains structure with bâtonnage and aging on fine lees, before being bottled.

PUXA BEIÇO | Bairrada Tinto Garrafeira 2019
Casta: Baga
Proveniente de uma colheita excecional, este Garrafeira 2019 foi elaborado apenas com uvas da casta Baga, de vinhas velhas com idade superior a 75 anos, plantadas em solos argilos-calcários. De cor profunda, o Puxa Beiço é um vinho de grande estrutura com taninos sólidos e vibrante frescura. No nariz, apresenta grande complexidade com frutos silvestres e notas vegetais, chocolate, pimenta e nuances de balsâmico. Na boca, intenso, taninoso, longo e renitente. Um tinto clássico que se afirma pela exuberância da casta Baga cultivada no território em que melhor se expressa.

PUXA BEIÇO (Pull Lips) | Bairrada Red Garrafeira 2019
Variety: Baga
Coming from an exceptional harvest, this Garrafeira 2019 was made only with grapes from the Baga variety, from old vines over 75 years old, planted in clayey-limestone soils. Deep in color, Puxa Beiço is a wine with great structure, solid tannins and vibrant freshness. On the nose, it presents great complexity with wild fruits and vegetable notes, chocolate, pepper and balsamic nuances. In the mouth, intense, tannins, long and persistent. A classic red that stands out for the exuberance of the Baga variety grown in the territory where it best expresses itself.
