This is a cover for the mystification article about the Ukrainian emigrant magazine "Верба і калина" (Willow and Viburnum), which had been allegedly published in Bloomfontein 1944 to 1994.
Willow and Viburnum are some of the traditional symbols of Ukraine, often mentioned in folk songs and art.
It was an interesting challenge to create a design for the "forgotten" almanach, to read the history of its alleged creation, to research various samples of real old emigrant publications in order to make my design look credible and in the spirit of the age.
