OBJECTIU BCN
Graphic design & website for a collective visual narrative of 200 gazes at the city
Objectiu BCN is a documentary photography project promoted by the ICUB and curated by Samuel Aranda, photographer for The New York Times and winner of the 2012 World Press Photo Award. The aim was to create a collective visual narrative of the city thanks to the participation of 200 citizens of Barcelona and internationally renowned photographers.
Over several months, the participants attended theoretical and practical classes in different civic centers of the city. The different facets of the project and its results are collected on a website as a virtual exhibition.
The design and programming of the project website is complemented by the preparation of all the graphic material necessary for the project, from postcards, posters, newsletters to conferences and participation dossier.
The home page is conceived as a prologue where an extract of each section is shown. The Civic Centers section offers information about the location and the days and hours of each class according to the center. The area of Districts is conceived as a blog that collects the evolution of the project over the months, and that sees its culmination in the Views where the work of each participant is shown. This section is composed by an index of the participants and a mosaic of all the projects that are shown randomly. Up to four individual templates have been created in order to optimally display each job. Finally, the Team section offers information about what has been made possible by and is involved in the project: the Centers Cívics network of Barcelona, the curator Samuel Aranda, the lecturers of the cycle of master sessions open to the public and the teachers.
