Long story short
In 2022 I did my first illustrated calendar and it was a very special experience for me, so I was very optimistic about the next year and possibility of a 2023 year calendar. But the full-scale invasion of russia happened and it affected every part of my life. For a long period of time I couldn't imagine planning anything further than 2-3 days, and the saddest part is that I couldn't draw anything but war. So, it was a huge step for me to agree to collaborate with Ukrainian brand ORNER and to create 13 new illustrations for the calendar, because I didn't know if I would survive and have a future at all. Creating these illustrations turned out like some kind of therapy where I tried to imagine having plans for each month. I focused on things that help me to handle my everyday stress and give some simple joy: long walks, food, nature, plants and a chance to share all these with people I love.
I wanted to create an atmosphere of comfort and, maybe, hope that will accompany for a whole year.
