Organization Logo

The purpose of this logo was for my undergraduate Graphic Design 1 class. We had to make a logo for a fake organization that was important to us. I chose blood donation because it is life-saving and universal. I wanted the logo be simple enough you can see it from most sizes but impactful enough for people to donate. My though was I would have the donor standing in a super hero pose with a red cape and bandage because they save lives when they donate. If you take the letters for the fake organization off, it can be a universal symbol for donating blood. The result was successful because I received a good grade and the importance of the organization is shown through the logo.
The goal of this work was to make a logo for an (make-believe) organization that helps the community in some way. The organization I chose was that who collects blood from donors to help save lives through blood transfusions. First, I researched logos of actual organizations that had a similar cause to mine. I collected examples to get inspiration from. Then I made sketches of different logos that might make it to the rough draft stage. Through the sketches, I wanted to show the theme of being a hero because blood donors save lives. After I got feedback from my peers, I decided to combine two designs to make one. I used concepts and imagery from one design and incorporated it into the final draft of the logo. The work was successful because it showed the theme of “hero” well and advertises the organization within the design.
