"We all read between the lines" Self Portrait September 2021
"Destruction is the precondition for creative activity." - I heard that quote in a film recently and found it interesting. There might be something to it for the one or two creative minds out there. I have also experienced that emotional suffering can be beneficial for the muse and for further development in the artistic field. When the suffering stops, you find yourself not being quite so productive. Because pain has one of the few upsides of inspiring, opening up new realms and stimulating growth (also personal). Getting over this creative low and continuing to deliver, at the stage of balance and contentment, is sometimes not so easy. Many self-portrait and fine art artists know this. In my experience, it is very helpful to take the time. To regroup, switch off, reset. To let something new emerge.
