What: Fashion Collection
When: 2012
In this collection, I highlight the artwork made by the Brazilian artist Elisa Queiroz.
Balls immersed in brassiere, watermelon, stuffed cookies, parts of the artist’s own body such as breasts, navel and groin: cut out, sublimated in tea bags with transfer printing or rice paper - are stitched by me with needle and thread, inspiring me to demarcate and create patterns.
These references become poems full of humour and explicit desires for shelter.
Female adiposity - the artist’s aesthetic reference - finds lightness in the midst of flowers, angels and birds.
In Elisa Queiroz's voice: “here it becomes a form of the course of time I speak of the relationship between fashion and art”.
It is easy to see that seduction is one of the artist’s great allies. In this equation of enchantment, respect and homage to the brilliant artist, exaggerated scarves are offered as a shelter to cover the body and the soul.
