Rivers of Steel National Museum

The United States used to be the world leader in steel production. Over time production shipped overseas, leaving plants to be demolished, and part of our culture lost forever. The Rivers of Steel National Museum pays homage to this past. Located in the heart of Pittsburgh, the museum will reside at Point State Park. Visitors will learn about the history of steel through exhibitions and galleries. After touring the museum, guests will cross the pedestrian bridge to the boat docks where they will be taken up river to the last remaining Carrie Blast Furnace. The guests will tour the derelict structure and learn more about Pittsburgh’s domination of the steel industry in the past.
