Abide in Christ

John 15:5

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

Our life source comes directly from Our Heavenly Father. Just like branches itself cannot produce fruit unless the branches feed from the sap of the vine. Abiding in Christ would mean receiving, savouring, resting, believing and trusting Him.

Jesus demonstrated the life that we meant to live. He is fully man and fully God and yet He humbly shows us how He is so dependant on Our Heavenly Father. Jesus is often referred to both the Lion & the Lamb, He is full of power and yet He moves in meekness. Everything He did, He did in love and He did to glorify the Father.

As we feed on the life power of God through His Word in complete dependence, we begin to transform and adopt the nature of Christ. Growth starts from within, which later compels an outward exhibition of good results. Abiding in God helps the believer to strengthen his walk, to beautify his character and to mature and ripen the fruit. Having always acknowledging the absolute supremacy of Christ brings to life Matthew 19:26 With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

The more fruit we produce, the more we abound in what is good and the more our God is glorified.
