Malt is an intergalactic playlist based radio-ish, which only brings the best of all emotions, in carefully curated musical tunes.
Having lived its beautiful younger years under the Bira FM name (2011-2013), in time, the project had to adapt, survive & evolve -like any one of us. Keeping its core values of being a "design project" and being easy-reach to the wanderer, we updated the one click mood music listening to the next level. With its modular codebase by my brother @DevrimVardar, powered by the Deezer API, it's not a radio, but sure acts like one.
Scenes
All the playlists are hand curated and categorized into themed stations. Almost every 3 hours there's a shift in style, as the lists change. The user can also scan a QR code and take their favorite lists with them (via the Deezer app). Combining with Scenes that help to set the mood, the full page experience is basically addictive.

Every playlist in Malt has a unique cover artwork, that clues the general mood of the songs within.
The initial set is a mix of some repurposed earlier works, some new digital art and some AI generated base-imagery with some plain typography.

Sharing w/ Caring
Just like a good joke, telling about a great song to a friend is hard as hell. That's why another hidden module underground, merges the station theme, the cover art & the song info into a feast of sharing.
And that's roughly the end of Level I, The Reintroduction of Malt.
Go give it a chance, it's a beautiful website with great potential ahead. Maybe more Javascript hungry interactive scenes, videos here and there, who knows..an artist info-layer, and surely, more stations..
