* * * Last old farms in Vatnsleysuströnd * * *

Bjarg's last occupants were the couple Ingimundur Guðmundsson from the near farm, Bakki, and his wife Abigael Halldórsdóttir from Hólar in Önundarfjörður. They had two children, Stefán and Guðrún.
Ingimundur was an exellant handyman and Jón Helgason's verses from Litlabær describes him perhaps best in this little poem:
If a oars had to be made or metal cleat
Refurbish a farm or repair a ship
and yet there were no rewards except thanks
Iron clad roof or iron shoe horse
then usually the refrain was:, - that is surely the best
to ask him Munda at Bakki
Ingimundur was a ship-owner as well as engaged in agriculture and construction. His care for the land and the houses was exemplary.
Ingimundur built a new residential building in 1934 on an old building, where Litlabæjarhúsið had previously stood, which was moved to Hafnarfjörður. After Ingimundur moved to the new house, there was no occupant of Bjarg.
