The piece is based on Helen Prejan’s book of the same title and was adapted by Jacke Heggie in 2000. The story is about a murderer on death row and his spiritual adviser, a nun. Our job was to create the whole visual design which included a short background film and the lighting as well. Since the play mostly takes place indoors we used a huge LED panel for the interiors and made additional physical elements too.

Phisical Set
The set included 10 rollable and 2 fixed bars, 12 seats, a table, a bed, and a stairs which was covered with bars on one side. The highly mobile bars were a great instrument to manipulate the space within second even while on the scene.

Digital Set

I created 10 digital backgrounds 2 of them are animated. The background follows the atmosphere behind the events. It's seen in the clocks, in the sun which sets exactly the time when the sentence becomes irreversible. The walls are becoming more and more aged while the patters become psychedelic.
