Hyper Hollow Heaven by Don't Get Lemon - Album Art

For their debut LP, Hyper Hollow Heaven, Don't Get Lemon wanted a departure from current genre atheistic trends, something that glowed and sparkled without being too glitzy, and communicated an understanding of how art and music is being devalued. This art glows and blurs the name of the album while sitting on top of textures that obstruct a computer generated mash up of promotional imagery of each member of the band themselves- warped and morphed into grotesque angels fit to live in the hyper capitalistic construct in which the album finds itself.
The album itself speaks to the undoing of the world while those in power either watch or are complicit. It deals with hollow art that is typically only making things worse either through calls to consume or being toothless. Yet, even with the world around us coming undone, there is still time to find joy in things like the Working Man's Ballet or the way the sun glistens off waves at the beach (even if those waves are filled with trash). Since so much of the album speaks to environmental ruin, we were able to work with pressing plants and use an "eco-mix" type of lacquer to press the vinyl. Eco-Mix vinyl production uses leftover wax scraps that are already in the factory, meaning each record is unique and the color is completely random. It’s more environmentally friendly as it’s using up material that would have otherwise been thrown away.
