Bluetooth Bookend Speaker
The concept shows a bookend with an integrated Bluetooth speaker. The special thing about it are the materials that have been used. Portable Bluetooth speakers are primarily made out of plastics, which have a good stability and acoustics.
However, the combination with folding sheet metal is the new part of the story - two different manufacturing methods come together. The folding sheet is folded from a flat object to a three-dimensional sculpture and then screwed together with the loudspeaker module.
The speaker comes with 152 square holes, a toggle switch and the power LED, which make it unmistakably clear whether the speaker is on or off. The dark orange color deliberately sets it apart from most books and it seems as if the speaker module floats behind the metal casing.
