Spirits

I started a new picture book. it's a project I'm passionate about. We will talk about the art of an Italian painter: Luca De Silva. I'm starting the job trying to create one of the main characters. This character will have to represent me but also combine the characteristics of the painter's art. From this idea these spirits were born.

I recently visited an exhibition by the Renaissance artist Donatello. The exhibition was full of sculptures of these spirits, he was obsessed with them. For my characters I decided to recreate the poses of Donatello's sculptures.

The characterization starts from this work. This is the artist's alter ego.

I want to be connected to him to best tell the story in the picture book.

Dragonfly spirit, 1-2a-2b

Dragonfly spirit has its own characteristics. He is lean, fast and agile. Before being born it falls into the water and when it leaves it, its wings grow. He is spiteful and does not like being in a group.

He prefers to talk to dragonflies.

Dragonfly spirit, Adulthood

Studying dragonfly I discovered that this insect has 3 stages in its life cycle. Egg, nymph, dragonfly. I have decided to bring these three phases back into one of the main characters of the new picture book. This could be the dragonfly spirit adulthood design.

Spirit of the feet

Spirit of feet wants to be alone. he is shy and introverted. Given his strong smell, he doesn't think he'll be able to find love. His job is to keep the feet on his chest clean at all times. If he doesn't, he can risk death.

Spirit of hands

Spirit of hands likes to have so many lovers. With his hands he sculpts the light. He is the right shoulder of the sun, besides being a skilled seducer, he directs the sun's rays to all parts of the world. If he didn't exist it would always be dark.
