Junkers G.38 – Germany’s Enormous Transport
The Junkers G.38 was a German airship designed by Hugo Junkers and built in his company’s factory in Berlin. It was the largest rigid dirigible that flew until World War I, as well as one of the largest aircraft ever built. It was also the first aircraft to use a gas envelope for lift, which made it much more reliable than other airships of its time.
