Gingerbread House Pocket

Gingerbread House Pocket
KNITTING PATTERN DESIGN BY AMANDA BERRY

Fill this little Gingerbread House pocket with Christmas treats and hang from your tree or mantelpiece.  Each gift bag is made from two house-shaped pieces, with the roof in garter stitch with a slipped stitch edge, and the body in stockinette stitch.  You can decorate as you like to personalise your project; perhaps add name tags, or make a set of numbered houses as an advent calendar.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, each is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).  This house is decorated with a 2 stitch i-cord “icing” around the door and window.  The pocket pieces are joined together with a single crochet edging, but you could sew together and perhaps add a decorative blanket stitch edging instead if you don’t crochet.
